What was the highlight of Cinnamon Lakeside
Overpriced stay and not 5*
The location was pretty good next to Fort/Pettah, but our main reason for staying here was to be close to Fort station. The staff were very friendly and the doorman gave us good advice regarding tuktuks.
This hotel is massively overpriced for what it is and definitely should not be classed as 5*. Rooms and building are very tired. Our room wasn’t really cleaned properly - there was dust all around the edges of the cupboards. The shower fixture was also broken we arrived, but they did immediately send someone to fix it (which he did in a matter of minutes). Rooms themselves seemed sound proof but there was an extremely loud group of people in the hallway shouting, playing music on a speaker and banging so loudly on each others doors that it felt like it was our door. The pool was very warm and therefore disappointing (we hoped it would be possible to have a refreshing dip). The staff working at the bar by the pool were not proactive in offering drinks or bringing a menu - we would expect higher level of service for a 5*.

concierge made me waste my full day by sending me to Petha market and to NoLIMIT shop for carpets wh
was too busy and staff did not have sufficient time to attend
Concierge sent me to PETHA MARKET when I enquired that I wanted to buy a LARGE CARPEt.Horibble experience there.wasted all evening at PETHA market which is not made for foreigners and NOT A SINGLE CARPET shop there. They also recommended NO LIMIT.Horible again.No traces of any carpets there. They have no known;edge of what they need to recommend. I would prefer they tel th e customers THEY DONT KNOW, instead of se3nding they randomly;y at any place like PETHA market which is a wholesale market and a horrible place. I had only one day there and wasted due to Concierge .
